The Department was established in 2006 with an annual intake of 60 students. The engineering education at the undergraduate level is of Four years B. Tech program which is AICTE-approved and affiliated to MAKAUT (formerly WBUT).
The Department of Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering of Techno International New Town (formerly Techno India College of Technology) has been playing a vital role in producing capable technologists & researchers of highest caliber to cater the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in all areas of Electronics Engineering such as Integrated circuits and Embedded systems, Robotics,Tele-communications, Computer Networking, Control & Automation, Power systems & Power electronics.
The students are honed in their skills by professionally trained faculty members. All faculty members possess postgraduate degrees. Some of the faculty members are also pursuing PhD in their respective specialized academic field.

About AEIE Program:
The entire AEIE course can be broadly classified into three key domains:
(i)    Electronics (ii) Automation  (iii) Software

The key subjects covered under the three domains:

Electronics: Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, Electrical and Electronics Measurement, Circuit Theory, Optoelectronics, Biomedical, Sensors; Transducers, Power Electronics.
                 
Automation: Microprocessors, Microcontrollers, Embedded Systems, Industrial Instrumentation, Control System, Process Control, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence.

Software: C Programming , Data Structures , DBMS.

Scope and Opportunities:
Students who are interested to study and work in the domain areas of Robotics, Industrial Automation, Software Automation, Biomedical Engineering and Embedded Systems (Microcontroller, Arduino, Raspberry pi) are encouraged to pursue this program of Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
AEIE students after successful completion of their 4-year BTech program can opt for working in either software companies or in core manufacturing / production orientated industries like TCS, CTS, CAPGEMINI, WIPRO, LINDE, JOHNSON CONTROLS, PERNOD RICARD etc.
The students also have varied scope in Higher Studies (India and Abroad) as well as in PSUs.  Students with valid GATE score can pursue ME/M.Tech at IITs , NITs in Microelectronics , Embedded Systems , Control Engineering , Bio Medical Engineering , Information Systems and will get career opportunities in PSUs like SAIL , BHEL , GAIL , NTPC , ONGC , IOC etc.
Higher Studies in Foreign Universities: Students can appear for GRE and TOEFL / IELTS if they want to pursue their MS / PhD at abroad universities.
Students can also appear in Indian Engineering Services (IES), UPSC, Indian Railways and in Indian Air Force, Indian Navy SSB examinations etc.
