The college has a Central Library of its own located in the ground floor of the building. The library has a total carpet area of about 3200 sq. ft. The library e in August, 2005 in order to serve the academic needs of the faculties, students, technical assistants, and other non-teaching staff of the college. The library also has a Reading Room of about 1000 sq. ft. with an accommodation of 60 readers.

 

The library remains open from Monday to Saturday from 09:45 am to 05:15 pm and remains closed on Sundays and other University Holidays.

The library has a total collection of about 40,000 volumes and about 3000 titles at present. There are mainly two categories of books – texts and references. The total collection of the books is displayed in the reading room. Books on various competitive examinations and documents on current information, general knowledge, dictionaries, newsletters, CDs etc. are separately available for reading purpose only and cannot be taken outside the library. The following rules and regulations must be maintained in the library premises. The students are advised to go through these rules before using the library.
1. TICT library is a closed access library, i.e. students are not permitted to enter inside the stack room.
2. Library remains open from 09:45 am to 05:15 pm on every working day.
3. Silence must be maintained inside the library. Chatting or gossiping and loitering in the library are strictly prohibited.
4. Two library cards will be issued to the students, reading card and lending card. The students will have to submit the photocopy of admission slip of the college in order to obtain the said library cards.
5. Two stamp size colour photographs must be pasted on each library card without which the cards will not be valid.
6. Books and other documents will be issued to the students for lending or reading purpose on producing respective library cards. No books will be issued to them without proper library cards.
7. In case of loss of library cards duplicate cards will be issued against a General Diary Report from Local Police Station along with a fine of Rs. 10/-.
8. Maximum Eight (8) books will be issued to the students at a time for lending which can be kept upto the semester exam.
9. If the book is on demand, the period of loan cannot be extended.
10. Books should be returned or renewed within the stipulated date otherwise a fine of Re. 1/- will be imposed on the students per day for each book till the return of the book.
11. If the book is found to be damaged or badly mutilated during lending, it should be immediately brought to the notice of the library staff.
12. If the book is lost or damaged or mutilated after lending from the library, the last borrower of the book will be held responsible.
13. Students are directed not to write anything inside the books taken from the library.
14. Students must not leave any book, borrowed for reading or lending purpose, on the reading desks. They must submit the books in the circulation counter before leaving the library.
15. Books issued on reading cards cannot be taken home. If found, a fine of Rs. 2/- will be imposed on the student per book per day till the submission of the book.
16. Mobile phones should be kept in silent mode inside the reading room. Attending phone calls inside the reading room is strictly prohibited.
17. Playing songs or movies or videos in laptops / mobiles / ipods etc. in the library is strictly prohibited.
18. Chairs and reading desks must be kept in their proper places.
19. Any kind of misbehaviour or unfair activities inside the library will be strictly dealt with.
20. An outgoing student must submit the library cards along with books and other documents taken from the library in order to obtain a library clearance certificate.

The Library has subscribed to IEEE + POP online journal package which covers over 3,00,000 technical articles published on various IEEE journals on all engineering disciplines. The Cataloguing, Circulation and other house–keeping operations of the library are fully computerized. For this purpose the library has subscribed a user-friendly software called LIBSYS. All in-house operations of a library can be performed through this software. Users can search the library database through OPAC [Online Public Access Catalogue].

There is a provision of departmental library for the benefit of faculty members. Each department gets a copy of each title (subject wise) of the total library collection.

Apart from circulation and reference service the library provides following facilities to its users:
